SIWES Process

Student Registration

Eligible students register with the SIWES Unit.

Orientation

Students receive orientation on expectations, documentation, ethics, and safety.

Placement

Students secure placement in approved organizations.

Approval

The SIWES Unit reviews and approves the placement.

Industrial Training

Students undertake industrial attachment while maintaining their logbooks.

Supervision

Institution supervisors visit students during the training period.

Report Submission

Students submit SIWES Logbook, Technical Report, Employer Evaluation, and Presentation (where applicable).

Student & Employer Responsibilities

Student Responsibilities

  • Maintain professionalism throughout the programme.
  • Observe organizational rules and policies.
  • Complete daily entries in the SIWES logbook.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually.
  • Participate actively in assigned tasks.
  • Keep regular contact with institutional supervisors.
  • Submit all required reports before deadlines.

Employer Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful practical experience.
  • Assign qualified supervisors.
  • Monitor students' performance.
  • Complete student evaluations.
  • Ensure a safe and conducive working environment.
  • Confirm attendance and training activities.
