SHUN ANTI-SOCIAL VICES ~ RECTOR URGES FRESH STUDENTS

In a bid to maintain high ethical and academic standards, the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality has urged its year one national diploma students to shun unwholesome practices such as Examination Malpractice and Cultism.

The Rector of the Institute, Prof Apuega Arikawei gave the charge during an orientation exercise for the 2023/2024 Year one academic session which took place at the Institute Auditorium.

Prof. Arikawei who congratulated the students for chosing the institute as their place of study also challenged them to be entrepreneurship compliant.

He advised them to take their studies seriously noting that they are being trained on two core areas:- namely; learning and character moulding.

He said it was heartwarming the students would be going home with dual certification; the diploma certificate and a skilled based that will make them entrepreneurs and employers of labour saying that they are privileged.

Other speakers also emphasized the need for more consistent academic curiosity by being good ambassadors of the institute, maintain institute property assigned to them, pay their school fees regularly and take advantage of the institute library and clinic facilities

The Acting Registrar, Mr. Zikenah, Akepiteigha however thanked the Rector for the number of innovations introduced so far in order to prioritize the needs and aspiration of the Institute and called on the students to make good use of the opportunities at hand.
