The Rectory of the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (IITH), Yenagoa, represents the highest level of academic and administrative leadership within the Institute. Professor Apuega Righteous Arikawei was appointed as the substantive Rector of the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, Yenagoa, by the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri.
He is a distinguished academic professional and a Professor of Adult Education, Social Welfare, and Community Development. Prior to his appointment, he served in the Department of Arts Education at the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
As Rector, he provides visionary leadership, overseeing the academic, administrative, and financial affairs of the Institute. He is responsible for maintaining discipline, ensuring institutional effectiveness, and driving the strategic growth and development of IITH.
Under his leadership, the Institute continues to strengthen its commitment to excellence in education, innovation, and service.
Patrick Perekebina holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Niger Delta University and is currently a doctoral student at the Federal University, Otuoke, specializing in Business Policy and Strategic Management.
Before his appointment, he served as Director of the Centre for Vocational and Entrepreneurial Studies (CVES), where he recorded significant achievements.
The Deputy Rector supports the Rector in the administration of the Institute, with particular responsibility for academic affairs, policy implementation, curriculum development, and quality assurance. He works closely with faculties, departments, and students to ensure the smooth delivery of academic programmes.
