General Studies Unit

Building the intellectual foundation for academic and professional excellence

The General Studies Unit (GNS) at the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (IITH), Yenagoa, provides a strong intellectual foundation that supports the academic and professional development of all students across the Institute.

As a core academic unit, it is responsible for delivering broad-based education that complements specialized programmes. It equips students with essential skills in communication, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and civic awareness — competencies that are vital for success in both professional and societal contexts.

At IITH, General Studies is not just a requirement; it is a transformative experience that shapes well-rounded graduates who are intellectually sound, ethically grounded, and socially responsible.
