IITH YENAGOA ELECTS PIONEER STUDENT EXECUTIVE
The International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has elected her pioneers Student Executive. This is part of efforts for Students to be able to collaborate with management by making their views and positions to be heard.
Like other tertiary institutions, Student Union Government has become a potent force for leadership training and a network of ideas which the management can tap from to build a Nexus that’s beneficial and purposeful-driven.
The election held on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at the Institute auditorium had Taritei Johnbull as President; Ogboro Onome Nimi, Vice President; Osain Ariwetone Goodness, General Secretary; Mackintosh Bina, PRO; Inieka Itonbaramfa, Assistant Secretary,. Also elected as Treasurer include Amadi Chidiebube Miracle, Youmoye Obote as Provost while Ataria Mary Chike is to serve as Director of Welfare.
Inaugurating the new Executive, the Rector of the Institute, Prof. Apuega Arikawei charged the SUG Leadership to run an all-inclusive and transparent government, work with the management urging them not to violate the school regulations.
Prof. Arikawei also commended the students for their sense of dedication, commitment and peaceful conduct before, during and after the election.
Responding on behalf of the team, the President, Taritei Johnbull promised to foster student unity, ensure that the needs and concerns of the students are met while bridging the gap between the students and management of the institute.
Moving the vote thanks, the Dean of Student Affairs, Mrs Ide Mercy thanked the Rector and management for the successful conduct of the election however expressed optimism on the ability of the new Exco to excel in the task ahead.
