PERMANENT SECRETARY VISITS BAYELSA TOURISM INSTITUTE

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Development, Mrs Tonye Koroye Enebinere was at the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, Yenagoa on Monday 18th March 2024 for on the spot assessment tour.

Receiving the Delegation, the Rector of the Institute, Prof. Apuega R. Arikawei welcomed the delegation and enumerated some of the challenges facing management of the school and also highlighted the score card of his leadership.

Prof. Arikawei used the medium to appealed for the needed support especially being one of the Parent Ministry overseeing the Institute and highlighted the areas to include adequate funding and partnership with the Ministry and Hotel Licensing Agency for training and capacity building of hoteliers for the licensing of existing hotels in Yenagoa which according to him can escalate the vision of tourism development by the prosperity government.

While on a facility tour, the Permanent Secretary said she was satisfied with the achievements of the Institute so far, calling on the Rector, the management, staff and students to work in synergy.

She however noted the challenges and promised to convey their needs to the appropriate quarters.
