The Computer Science Department was established in December 2022 to upscale new programs in the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Yenagoa Bayelsa State.  The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) came on a resource inspection visit from Monday 25^th to Tuesday 26^th of September 2023, the Department was given the go-ahead to commence the National Diploma program for Computer Science in the 2022/2023 academic session.

The Computer Science Department is dedicated to equipping students with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving field of computing. We believe in providing a strong foundation in theoretical concepts alongside practical application, preparing diplomats for successful careers in various information technology sectors.

The core philosophy of the Department is to produce diplomats that are trained with theoretical and practical approaches to implement Computer Science in the middle-level profession in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, and the world at large.
